Tier 2 Switch - Travelling abroad after obtaining CoS

Hi,

Tier 2 ICT to General Switching (In-country)

Are we allowed to travel abroad and return back to the UK with the old BRP card after obtaining new CoS and apply for the VISA after returning back?

Example:

CoS issue date: 30/Aug/2013
Date of travel: 20/Oct/2013
Date of return: 08/Nov/2013
Date by which new VISA application has to be filed: 30/Nov/2013 (3 months from CoS issue date)
