hello
i need help of you experienced guys for my friend.he came in to uk on spouse visa under old rules before 9 july rules.but he hasnt applied for his ILR yet he got mixed up with visa date and it expiring on 19/08/2013 this month.he still needs to pass Life IN uk Test.can he apply for FLRM (FOR SPOUSE) to extend his stay, what reason to give why he didnt apply ILR and what documents are needed to support the FLRM (SPOUSE)application . also him and his wife are living separately in different cities due to employment and see each other once a month but he did not keep any travel evidence for last two years.no emails and phone records. is there any other supporting evidence he or she can provide to satisfy immigration that they were seeing other and why they were living apart.thank you so much all. any help is greatly appreciated.

Guidance notes for FLR(M). http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... 020091.pdf
Note he will have to pass the A1 English test before submitting the application. He can explain that he requires an extension due to not passing the Life in the UK test.
Living apart without evidence of contact may well be a problem. Doesn't he have any proof of regular travel for his visits 'home'? How do they communicate while they're apart? It may be wise for him to seek professional advice before submitting his application. The application's looking weak at present and he only has a few days to pass the A1 English test! :?
