Verification calls

So ive applied for a tourist general visa.
Its been 2 weeks status still shows "your visa app has been fwded to the brit high commission".

My sponsor (whos docs i provided) recd a phone call for verification purposes 2 days back. It went ok but they didnt say anything else except ask him a few questions. Is that normal??

Im getting a bit worried considering the call & no change in status.
