long resident (LR)

Dear all,

I'm applying soon to 10 years long resident but need to tell my story :

I came ( my husband and children ) with a student visa to the uk then extended my student visa many time till 2010. My family were always dependent on my visa but on 08/2009 my husband got work permit ( i mean old work permit not point system)and for entry clearness he has to go out of uk and come back again ,so he went out on 02/2010 but before his student visa dependent run out which was up to 10/2010.

So, he came back to uk after 10 days with new entry clrearness and his work permit visa up to 02/2014.

for me and children after 2010 i got work and got Tier 2 visa which will expire soon.

My questions are:

1. can we all apply for LR?
2.we had pre -school fund for my children , is that exceptable?
3.We also had childcare vocher , , is that exceptable?
4. We have two houses and got discount 10% for council tax ,, is that exceptable?

Seems ok subject to meeting the other standard requirements. Your continuous stay in the UK should not have been broken as your husband had valid stay upon exit and entrance and the absence was <180 days. Your total absences for the 10 year period should be <540 days.

His total absence less than 35 days in 10 years, but what about items 2 to 4 please?

Dear Amber,

It is really appreciated your replay but I still have some concern as we will pay £4104 towards our application, and I just wanted to make sure it is a good time to apply.

For your information we always were up to date in our visa application with no problem at all in the past. So, do you think depending on your experience it will be straight forward?

If you are still concerned then talk to an OISC regulated adviser or solicitor and ask the same questions it shouldn't cost you more than £20 for 15 mins on the phone.

Hi all,
Thanks for everyone who are helping everybody.

I have applied for ILR ( 10 years) before few weeks and now my employer/university asking for an update for my application and they want to contact Homeoffice to find out what is going on , could anyone suggest what can I do ? I know it is nearly three months since I applied and HO do not give any update before 6 months , if they contact HO, is that make any difference/worse?
