ILR success at Sheffield PEO - 13/08/2013

Post by pradeep21 » Thu Aug 15, 2013 10:29 am

Hi Everyone,

I've been a silent viewer of this forum for a while and its now time for me to share my experience regarding my recent ILR approval . The forum has helped me a lot with my queries. This is the first place i would come if i had any questions regarding immigration.

Anyway, mine was a straight forward case. I was on TIER 1 (General) for 5 years. Have 1 dependent. Documents produced for my application:

1. SET O application form
2. Passport size photographs (two for each applicant)
3. Appointment letter
4. KOL test result documents (Mine and dependent)
5. Employee letter detailing my current job status and confirming absences outside UK as annual paid leave ( i only had 103 days outside UK for the period of 5 years)
6. Payslips - 12
7. Bank statements - 24 (for cohab as well)
8. Council tax statements (Covering 2 years period for Co-hab)
9. Water bills (Covering 2 years period for co-hab)

All the above documents (except application form) photo copy.(Not necessary but saves case workers time as they need to photocopy)

My appointment was at 10am. Reached Sheffield at about 9 am and went straight into the UKBA office. Done with security checks and was asked to go to counter 7 (Reception). Was given a token number and was asked to wait. At around 9:45, my number was called to counter number 1. She verified all the documents needed for my application and then asked my to proceed to the payment counter to complete the application fee. Paid the application fee (appointment fee was deducted from the application fee) and was asked to wait to be called for biometric. At around 11:15 was called for biometric. Finger prints and photo taken. At around 12 noon a case worker called me to a counter. Introduced herself and told me that she will be dealing with my application. She confirmed all the details regarding my points and asked for the photocopies. Advised me that it will take about 45 mins for her to do all the mandatory checks and then come to a decision. Asked me to wait or either go for lunch (I preferred t wait). At around 13:00, the case worker returned and called me back to the counter. She handed over all my original documents with a letter stating ILR approved for me and dependent. Biometric will take about 7 working days to arrive.
Very pleased with the service at Sheffield PEO and would recommend it to anyone planning to take an appointment.

Thanks again for all the advice and help the forum has provided.
Keep up the good work.

Thanks

Many congratulations pradeep21
!!!

Just one query regarding cohabitation:
How many council tax letters did you provide that covers two years, can you please suggest?
Reson I'm asking is: I get only one letter for council tax every year which mentions the installments I need to pay every month. So, for two yeards I've only two letters. Is it sufficient?

Thanks.
