Questions on income threshold and in country applications

Post by bobbylad » Fri Aug 16, 2013 3:33 pm

I had a couple of quick questions I haven't been able to find a clear answer to.

Is the £18,600 before tax?
Do they just want to see payslips or bank statements as well? For instance if I earned over the threshold would they also judge my outgoings or is earning the required salary simply enough?

Can you make the required sum from having two jobs?

Do you have to have had the job for 6 months or would 4 be adequate?

Does a British citizen child increase the min salary? It seems no but can anyone confirm?

Can applications now be made in country if the applicant currently has a family visit visa and has not overstayed?

Really hope anyone can help me answer some or all of these questions, really appreciate any help you can give me.

Thanks a lot, such a quick answer.

Can you elaborate a little more please? What do you mean by differing evidence?

For cat a you would need 6 months earnings evidence and cat b 12 months. Moreover, for cat b (varied income or <6 months employment) you must have actually earned the required financial requirement in the last 12 months. Whereas, for cat a salaried income of >6 months, you don't, rather that your lowest monthly gross wage x 12 equals or exceeds the financial requirement.
