A Query regarding UK visit Visa processing!

Hi all! My question is simple, and to the people from Pakistan who have got their visiting visa for UK.

Did u receive any visa confirmation email from Abu Dhabi Visa centre before receiving their passport? Is it necessary that if visa has been issued then email will be received by the applicant?

Last year when i applied for my mother, received an email from Abu dhabi visa centre stating "Your Visa has been issued....."

This time I have applied for UK general visit visa but I haven't got any email yet. Applied on 29th July. Status is yet "Application forwarded to embassy".
