Hi all,

My friends, has recently gained scholarship in a prestigious university of Ireland, however the problem is she has a 76 year old dependent who happens to be her grandmother. The dependent visa has been has been refused while my friend's visa has been approved.

The question is can my friend's grandmother apply for a visit visa to UK to stay with a distant relative for few months till my friend can appeal from Ireland.

Please post your comments.

By showing enough funds and a self owned house in the home country. Is that not good enough? Will a rejected visa for Ireland make it difficult to get her a UK visit visa bearing she is 76?

Please advise.

Many thanks in advance.
