Employer letter (present employment)
Appointment letter
Bank statements(last 4 months)
Salary slips(last four months )

Marriage certificate
Council tax or utility bill(in the name of myself & my wife)
Home registry papers which is in the name of myself & my wife .

You will need to prove you have been living together for the last 2 years. So you will need at least 5 documents for each year in joint names or individual documents from roughly the same periods with the same address on them, from 5 different sources. Also you will need passport sized photos, 2 of your wife and 1 of you. Oh and of course a SET(M) form.

Recent accounts of others experience of the ILR <Set(M)> would suggest do not apply in person if your spouse has spent any lengthy time out of the country and that you would need to explain why by a postal application. Although that still is not full proof.

She will not be considered for ILR until Jan 08 at the earliest as you need to complete two years on the spouse visa. What date will her spouse visa expire?

You may only apply for ILR 28 days prior to the spouse visa expiring.

I will complete my five years in UK on a combination of WP +HSMP
(Initially was on WP --> then move to HSMP last year in April) .

May 2002 to March 2006 (WP)+HSMP(April 2006)

My wife is on Dependent HSMP

Well in that case I think she will have to complete 5 years unless you become a British national before then but that I'm afraid this is a grey area for me. I'll have to pass this one on to someone else how really knows about HSMP and Citizenship. I'm sure someone will be able to help you. You may have to wait until tomorrow though. Good luck!
