Child not granted status

Post by naija99 » Mon Aug 19, 2013 1:50 pm

Hi forum members
I wondered if you could advise. My friend was granted 2.5 years LTR as a parent of a child who is 7 years in the UK. The documents and status letter were returned however there was no grant of status for the child. Is this usual? How will the child obtain his status? The child's details were included as a dependent on the application form but he was not invited to give his biometrics, only the father was.

The parent applied but was any type of application made for the child? It is not joint procedure!

Child not granted status

Post by naija99 » Thu Sep 05, 2013 11:36 am

Thanks Lucapooka
No separate application was made for the child, the child was just added
as a dependent but he failed to pay the dependent fee
What is the best way to get the childs status granted now? Should he make a separate application and pay the fee but what category would the child be applying under?
Or should he write back to the caseworker submitting the fee and asking them to grant the child's status?

Was child born in the UK?
Has child previously been granted leave?

If child is not travelling, then child is not required to apply for leave to remain.

Moreover,

Child not granted status

Post by naija99 » Tue Sep 17, 2013 12:15 pm

Vinnie

What is the position as the child is not currently entitled to register as a British citizen as his father was only granted 30 months leave and not settlement. The child would like to travel with his father so what application form should be used for the child to obtain leave in line with his father who was granted his status on the basis of being a parent to a child who was living in the UK for seven years?
