Home Office Visiting Company for Sponsor License Renewal

Post by alanbwinger » Mon Aug 19, 2013 3:49 pm

A question about Tier 2 Sponsorship license renewal

Here's the detailed info.
1. I have a PhD in Mech Engg and my work is entirely a skilled one and is related to my field of study.
2. working for a small A-rated company since 2009. This is entirely genuine company and the company's business is entirely in high tech scientific equipments.
3. For the first 4 years we had 6 employees (I am the only non-UK employee) and the company had 6 rooms.
4. Company merges with another big company in France in 2013.
5. The working staff has now reduced to just 1 and that is me. Some left the job, while others moved to France as they are fine to work being EEA nationals.
6. And now I carry out all the R and D stuff + production stuff within the space confined to me and that is just 1 room here in the UK.
7. My employer is a very honest and careful person. He has managed all my records on a timely basis.
8. My employer has always updated any changes in the company structure or changes in job responsibilities in the CoS system.
9. He has also informed of the Company merger and other happenings to the Home Office at the time of merger.
11. My employer now has applied for sponsorship renewal and the home office is going to visit us on 13th september.

Now I'm worried if just the 1 room that we have, where I currently work is going to cause any concern. I mean my work is still the same and nothing has changed for the past 4 years. But just 1 non-UK employee along with the director? How does it look?

Can someone shed light into my situation.? Anyone who can tell me how my employers chances of getting sponsorship renewal approved will be affected ?

Thanks

Worried Dude..

The above is the key - it is not possible to comment without knowing all the details but if this is really so you have nothing to worry about. How many rooms the company occupies is not relevant.

Have a look at the Tier 2 sponsor guidance from para 767 onwards, para 786 is about HO visits in connection with licence renewal:

Thank you so much. I went through the entire para's and it was a breath of fresh air. I had a similar opinion about how trivial the no. of rooms is and I just hope it turns out true. Thanks very much for your response. I can sleep better .. well atleast for a the next 4 weeks :)
