Family ILR under old rules - income threshold

Post by elzana » Wed Aug 21, 2013 5:31 pm

My husband will be applying for ILR early in 2014. He has a visa under the old rules and has been in the country since 2012.

My question is around the maintenance requirement. Is there a set amount? I earn £18k per year, which may have gone up slightly by the time we apply to 19 or 20K.

My husband earns £10 per hour, however, he works on a zero hours contract and as such is not in a permanent job. Will this be a problem? He works almost every week of the year for an average of around 25 hours and has all the paperwork to prove this. Are there any steps I need to take, ie: letters from the employer?

We also have savings of 5K.

I'm hoping that we meet financial requirement. We meet all the other, it's just I know they are getting more and more picky and I wouldn't put it past them to find issue with something where they can.
