Surrender of Indian passport query

My son, who is born in the UK, just received his first British Passport. My husband and I are still Indian passport holders.

I need to apply for my son's OCI card and I just realised that I need to first surrender his expired Indian passport.

Could someone please advise the procedure, the documents that we need to submit to first surrender his Indian passport and then to apply for OCI card.

The child is not eligible for OCI until either parent acquires foreign nationality.
