Stamp 1A Part Time

Post by blu1000 » Fri Aug 23, 2013 9:03 pm

Hi there

I was issued with a Stamp 1a visa recently but I am considering changing my work hours from full time to part time only. My current employer is happy with this but can anybody advise whether this would be allowed by GNIB? ?

Do I have to be working full time for this visa?

Thanks for any help! !

No you don't need to be working full time for stamp1a - stamp1a is for accountancy students which allows you to gain work experience compared to stamp 2 (normal students) who can only work 20 hours per week.

Thank you Ashley_m! :)

I was concerned because the stamp says "for the purpose of full time training"...and my employer was very concerned (as was I) that I was breaking the terms of my visa by working half day and wouldn't take the risk of employing me any longer if that was the case.

Thanks!
