Does an employee who has another job count?

Post by JohnOhn » Sat Aug 24, 2013 3:24 pm

In the guidance, regarding employment creation for Tier 1 Ent renewal, it states you must have:
established a new business or businesses that has/have created the equivalent of at least two new full-time jobs for persons settled in the UK;
As I understand it, this can be done by hiring 1 person for 30 hours/week for 24 months; 2 people for 30 hours/week for 12 months; 4 people for 30 hours/week for 6 months; etc.

My question here is about "job creation." You need to have created and filled the equivalent of two new full-time jobs. What if someone you hire has another job and needs an extra job (the one you are hiring them for)? In this case, they already have a job, but they are also filling the post of a new job in your business.

Does someone you hire who has another job somewhere else count towards that employment creation?

Thanks so much.

Yes, that will count towards employment creation.

yes it will count. A person can have as many jobs as possible. There is no legal restraint!
