husband pakistani passport expiry

husband pakistani passport expiry

my husband came to UK on settlement visa in april 2012- his Pakistani passport is gna expire in oct 2013- does he need to renew his Pakistani passport?

That will really depend on whether or not he wants to travel. Given that he is not eligible for a British passport, the only way he will be able to travel is on a Pakistani passport. Theoretically - and maybe someone will correct me here - future applications to the UKBA can be made with a letter from the Pakistani government confirming his citizenship if his passport has expired.

He does not need to do if he doesn't want to ,but I think it is a good idea to renew it in case he has to travel anywhere in an emergency,In the future (after he has obtained a British passport)if he has a Pakistani passport , he is exempt from paying over £140 for a Paksiatni visa(per each visit) if he uses his British passport to travel to that country.So yes I would recommend he renews it,It will only cost £50
