Medical exam on entry

Post by azo » Mon Aug 26, 2013 12:38 pm

HI, my wife, finally got her visa to enter the UK and she will be coming over next month. However, I want to ask as its her first time entry into the UK and she will be staying more than 6 months is she required to undergo a medical examination or have always undergone a medical examination in her home country, China, on her first entry into the UK.

We applied for the visa before the new rules on TB came before they came part of the visa requirements.

Since this will be her first entry ever to UK, she should get a TB test done and carry the X-ray and report in the hand baggage when she travels.

Else, she may have to spend some (extra) hours at the medical assessment room at the UK port of arrival.

IMHO ...
