dependent visa query

Post by raykau » Wed Aug 28, 2013 9:57 am

hello I would be much grateful to have any advice regarding this.

I am currently under the old work permit visa and i have been offered another position from a different company who are willing to do work permit Tier 2 (G) to support it. I just want to know if my wife who applied as a dependent of the original work permit needs to rea -apply for a new visa as a dependent of the new Tier 2 (G) visa or she should be fine?

Please any advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

If you get a Tier 2, she will still need to be dependent on your visa, ergo she will need to become a T2 dependent.

Thanks for your reply; so she will have to go back to the home country and reapply for the visa again ?

She is already here with me as a dependant of the old work permit

As she already had leave as your dependant, she may switch to Tier 2 dependant within the UK (319C) when you switch to Tier 2 (General) (245HD).

Consider getting ILR for everyone before changing jobs.
