ILR entry date for Tier1 G if you have lived in UK > 5 ye

Post by CBhatt » Wed Aug 28, 2013 11:09 am

Hello,

I came across this forum as a result of preparing documents for ILR in a couple of weeks time.

I came to the UK in October 2005 as a student, moved to Tier 1 in Oct 2008 and extended it again in Oct 2011.

What should be my date of entry according to section 6.1
When did you (the main applicant) first enter the UK? This
refers to the date of your first entry into the UK at the beginning
of the period of stay on which this application is based
?

I have read the guidance http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=79378 which sort of hints at October 2008 as the entry date ( ie the day I was stamped with first Tier 1) but is not very clear. I have been through the foum and couldnt see post similar to this ( most people understandably have issue of having a gap in the 5 year period)

Can someone help please?

Also, can someone confirm what is meant by section 6.3
6.3 What evidence has been provided to support the reasons for all absences from the UK?

I have total number of consecutive holidays less than 180 days over 5 year period- am I still supposed to give evidence for that?

Thank you
CB

Your 5 years qualifying period starts from the day your Tier-1 Visa is stamped ( as yours is an In-country application) and u can apply for the ILR upto 28 days prior to the 5th anniversary of that date.
