Help regarding Visa for a Newborn baby.

Post by nasir639 » Mon Sep 02, 2013 1:35 pm

Hi Guys,

I am on a Tier 1 general visa and have been in the UK for more than 12 months. My wife is on the same visa and she is also in the Uk for more than 12 months.

We are expecting a baby at the end of the year and she is travelling to her home country soon after. So, now I am in the panic of applying for the visa and maintaining funds etc.

I need to find out what the Maintenance fund is going to be. Since we will only be applying for the child's visa , do we need to show only £600 for 90 consecutive days or 900+600+600 ?

Also can anyone confirm the visa fee for applying on the same day for the new born baby(dependent under 18 ) is £1920.

This is ridiculous. I can't believe they are making money by this means. I thought the child's visa would be stamped on the mother's passport and that would be it. This whole process is unbelievable.

Your thoughts on this matter and help would be much appreciated.

Regards,

You need to maintain £600 as maintenance fund.
The fees you stated is correct.

Are you sure?? Don't they need to know if I am able to support my other dependent and myself?

They need to know when you apply for their visa...
logically, it does not make sense, but this is the way UK immigration works..
