switching from Tier 4 to Tier 1 General Dependent

hello,

I am currently in UK on tier 4 visa. My partner is also in UK on Tier 1 General visa. I want to switch from tier 4 to tier 1 gen. dependent visa.

I would like to confirm whether I will have to leave the country and apply from home country to switch, correct?

also my partner is not working currently, do I need to show any documents on his work situation?

Apply outside thevuk and no need to show current employment.
