Weird situation ... Any advise please ...

My company has started my tier 2 ICT visa process .. i have got a job offer from a company in uk which can sponsor my Tier 2 general.

If i have a tier 2 ICT visa on passport but haven't travelled on it to uk can i immediately switch to tier 2 General ??? As in my knowledge the cool off period won't be applicable.
