RE: Error in last name with regards to ESOL requirement

Post by indian2012 » Wed Sep 04, 2013 8:25 pm

Hi,

This is regarding the English language requirement for my wife who intends to apply for citizenship immediately after my citizenship that is due Sept 2014 on the basis of British spouse rule.

Last name on her mark sheet and bachelors degree ( in pharmacy)certificate is spelled incorrectly.

We have an affidavit by notary from India confirming the last name error.

We also have a letter from her college confirming medium of instruction was English during her entire degree course with the correct last name.

Since degree certificate is required to bypass the speaking/listening ESOL test, kindly advise if UKNARIC will consider this affidavit and issue her with English language comparability certificate with correct last name as per passport.

UKNARIC letter should state below . Please correct if I am wrong

' Indian Bachelor Degree is considered comparable to British Bachelors ( Honours) degree standard. '

We do not think Indian University (Pune) will issue amended degree certificate with correct last name, hence the query.

The reason for this above query is since UKNARIC will not confirm if affidavit is enough to issue degree comparability letter unless we apply and pay the entire fee.

Kindly advise.
