Exact details of courier service offered by Toronto VAC

Post by mbluteau » Wed Sep 04, 2013 10:02 pm

I am nearing the end stages of submitting my PBS Tier 4 (General) Student Visa for entry into the United Kingdom from Canada. I have successfully completed the online form, payed for my visa, and I have booked my Visa Application Centre Appointment so my biometric information can be taken. As some probably know with this visa application stuff, it has been no easy process getting to this point; however, I have truly run into a roadblock that I cannot seem to get an answer to.

I am currently based in Halifax, NS Canada, which only hosts these types of appointments once a month. This was certainly not convenient for me (next appointment date is Sept. 24), so I decided to book my appointment for the Toronto Visa Application Centre (VAC). The Toronto VAC offers a free courier service to get the application from the VAC to the processing office in New York which I intend on taking full advantage of; the courier service is also free to get your passport and supporting documents back to the Toronto VAC; however, I evidently need my important documents shipped back to Halifax. World Bridge Services (the company that handles the UKBA visa applications in Canada) makes it quite clear that a pre-paid international waybill needs to be included in an application if you want your documents to be returned to a residential address (see "What you should enclose" at http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/count ... %20English). However, on their website, they also say that they offer a courier service: https://www.visainfoservices.com/pages/ ... vices_page .

So, at this point I want to be absolutely sure that the "courier service" offered by World Bridge will cover getting my documents back to my home in Halifax? In other words, will I be able to obtain an international pre-paid waybill at the Toronto VAC?

I am hoping someone on here has gone through this process at some point in Canada or somewhere equivalent. And if you are going to ask why I just don't purchase a pre-paid waybill in advance to be safe, the reason I am hesitant to do this is that I am pretty sure World Bridge only uses DHL and there doesn't appear to be a DHL location in Halifax (and I don't exactly want to get a pre-paid waybill online where it is highly likely I will get the wrong one).

In case anyone ever has a similar question, I was able to buy the pre-paid waybill at the Visa Application Centre in Toronto (same goes for any other Visa Application Centre in Canada, except for the Mobile Biometrics Clinics, where you must buy the waybill yourself). Fingers-crossed my visa arrives soon!
