My baby's passport application is rejected

Hi There,

I was on tier 1 point based visa on my indian passport when baby girl was born in UK. Two months after her birth, I received ILR.

I applied for her british passport and received a rejection today. The rejection letter suggests that as neither me or my husband were british citizen or settled in UK, she is not eligible for british passport.

Has anyone experienced this? What is the next step, do I need to apply an indian passport for my baby and then apply for her settlement visa?

Any advice will be greatly received.

You need to apply for your child's Registration as a British Citizen under Section 1(3) using form MN1. Then after you apply for child passport.
