Help needed Irish citizen marrying stateless palestinian

Hey everyone,
My partner and I are planning to get married next May (new Gay wedding legislation, hurrah!). My partner has lived in the UK for 6 years as a student, although her visa runs out in July.
I have lived here for about 10 years, and hold an Irish passport.

My partner is Palestinian, however, she is technically stateless. She has a Jordanian travel document and expired Israeli residency permits (which they will now not renew, meaning she can at this point, not return to East Jerusalem, where she is from). I believe she will need a certificate of non-impediment, and we are not sure how to get this. Does anyone have experience on this? We are just starting to get organised about this wedding, so basically a bit clueless about stuff.

Have you lived in a relationship akin to marriage for any period of time, ie co-habitaion? If so, it may be possible for your partner to apply for a UK residence card on the basis of you being durable partners. The form to complete would be EEA2, which is on UKBA's website.

With regards to your marriage, it depends on where you get married and what laws apply there. There may also be an implications in terms of demonstrating that you both have the capacity to marry. This is an immigration forum, so you may be better finding information on this elsewhere on the web.
