Naturalisation not living with spouse.

Post by Benjyokai » Sat Sep 07, 2013 8:00 am

Hi, I have ilr and want to apply for naturalisation on the basis of marriage.
I do not currently live with my wife but we are not divorced.
Will I still be able to apply though our addresses are different and use three year residence? Ie based on marriage?
Your help will be very much appreciated. Thanks

There is no requirement that you should be living together

You can apply as a spouse of a British Citizen until you receive the decree absolute. You will need to get a copy of her/his Birth Certificate from the General Register Office as you'll not have access to the Passport and a copy of the Marriage Certificate.
