Indian Passport expiring and renewal in UK

Hello All,

My passport is expiring in March 2014,
1.I want to know if applied by post to renew, with in how many weeks I will get new passport?

2. I am planning to go to India in November 2013 and back in December 2013, as my passport is expiring in march is there any problem to travel?
