Return of Passport

Post by thewhittaker » Sun Sep 08, 2013 2:06 pm

Hi there,

I've applied for RC (EEA2) in July 2013and been waiting for a final decision.

Last Friday, I requested for the passports back using the form on UKBA website. I haven't got any automated email so I emailed them today just to check if they got my request, got the automated email back:

Thank you for your email to the UK Visa and Immigration Service, Liverpool European Passport Returns. This inbox is specifically for requesting the return of passports or identity documentation submitted with applications made under the European Economic Area Regulations of 2006.

If you have made an application for a Residence Card or Registration Certificate under the European Regulations, please provide your name, passport/identity card number and if applicable postage reference number.

Your request will then be directed to the relevant team for resolution.

We will endeavour to return your documentation as soon as is possible, usually within ten working days, from when the passport has been received onto the relevant team and processed into this department. However there may be exceptional cases where it takes longer. So we strongly advise that you do not book any travel arrangements until your application has been fully considered.

Please note that a request for the return of your documents will not result in your application being considered quicker than standard processing times. In some circumstances we may need to request the return of your documents to complete a decision on your application and If your passport is not with UK Visa’s and Immigration at the time of decision then you may need to make a new application should you require the transfer of your Residence Card into your passport.

I'd like to ask if I should be worried about the last part of this email (in italic/bold)..

Thanks
Pat
