Hi Everyone.
I came to UK in Nov 2008 through the Work Permit for Inter Company Transfer. I moved to a PBS Tier 2 ICT in 2010, and had another Tier 2 ICT extension in 2011. My current leave to remains under the Tier 2 ICT expires in December 2013.
The confusion I have is whether I should go for a ICT Extension first and apply for an ILR or apply for an ILR directly as I am eligible for ILR before the current leave expires.
Any pointers appreciated.
TIA
R

I assume the ICT was prior to April 2010. You can apply for settlement from 28 days before you qualify.

Amber, I came to the UK on a Work Permit and switched to ICT while in the UK. My understanding is that April restriction doesn't apply to me. Hope I am correct

Yes, you are:
The 5-year continuous period must include time spent as:
a Tier 2 (Intra company transfer) migrant under the Immigration Rules in place before 6 April 2010; or
a qualifying work permit holder, provided that the work permit was granted because you were the subject of an intra-company transfer.
I didn't see that the work permit was subject to an ICT at first.

amber, sorry missed one point, my original question was if I should go for a ICT Extension first and then apply for an ILR or apply for an ILR directly as I am eligible for ILR before the current leave expires
any inputs welcome.

You should apply for SET(O) when eligible.

Thanks for the input that I can apply to set(o) when I am eligible but the question I had is there is a benefit in getting my Tier 2 extended before I apply for ILR. Or can I apply for ILR after getting by COS for ICT Extension.
Will the case worker be more comfortable if I have a Leave to Remain in ICT for 2 years while reviewing my ILR application.

So I should probably go for an ILR ? Again, my current leave to remain expires on Dec 4th and I came UK on Nov 28th 2008.
