Hi Gurus
I am a close follower of this great forum. I would appreciate your time for the following matter:
I am currently working as a group accountant and I am thinking of switching to Tier General.
My job involves a wide range of duties including all the sample job provided under ‘SOC 2421 Chartered and Certified Accountant’
My current salary is much higher than the new entrant as well.
Here comes the issue, I am a part qualified accountant. And my FD is worried whether he could select this SOC code 2421, as the title of the SOC is ‘SOC 2421 Chartered and Certified Accountant’
I even pointed my FD the Tier 2 ukba guidance, where it says that it is not the level of education but ability to do relevant jobs that matters. But I think it is this title “Charted and Certified Accountant” – which is confusing?
Do you think, SOC 2421 can be selected for a part qualified accountant?
For your convenience I have extracted SOC 2421 from the codes of practice document of Tier 2 General below:
2421 Chartered and certified accountants
Related job titles:
• Accountant (qualified)
• Auditor (qualified)
• Chartered accountant
• Company accountant
• Cost accountant (qualified)
• Financial controller (qualified)
• Management accountant (qualified)
Salary rates: New entrant: £20,300 / Experienced: £26,300
I look forward to your comments
Thanks
