what should i do, please help.

Post by codedi1 » Fri Sep 13, 2013 11:33 pm

HI all,

i received a letter from the home office that my application was refused solely because i didn't meet the financial requirement hence decision has been on hold pending high court decision.

i have a savings of more than 16050gbp for at least 6 month as the only evidence of meeting financial requmt , with no income by me and my wife becos the savings is in my name and address and source of savings is from my mom, based in africa. i am not workin and my wife is on part time job as am studying for my degree course.

Please can anyone shed more light to meeting fin requirement by savings.
Do i have an appeal case here to pursue. cos i feel they set the bar so high even after meeting it i was refused.

please can anyone shed more light on meeting financial requirement by cash savings alone.

Wait for outcome of Home Office's appeal.

If you are British, then consider Surinder Singh route.

You had to show a lot more than that to meet the savings only requirements!!!

The formula is as follows: 16000 + (2.5 *18600). So you did not meet the savings only requirement.

Check out the annex on the right side of the page...

As Vinny says, your best bets are the Surinder Singh route or waiting for the outcome of the Home Office's appeal....

It would help if you explained on what basis you were applying. Was this an FLR(M) application from inside the UK? If your spouse/partner British?

In the UK are there any disabled/health problem family members?

Does your spouse have any disabled family members i.e. grandparents etc...?

I gather you were on a student visa before applying for FLR(M).

As Vinny pointed out above, those two options are about all. Unless you can raise substantially more savings or your spouse gets a full time job earning the required financial requirement. Only savings over £16000 count. Do you have children?
