US Immigration processing and Passport return

Post by PLZHLP » Mon Sep 16, 2013 2:46 pm

Hi All,

I need some help.

I am US citizen and I have applied for my parents for US Immigration, my parents lives in Pakistan - they had their visa interview in July 2012 and its been more than a year and they are still waiting to get their passports back.

Does anyone knows how long it takes to get Immigration visa processed, on their official website I can check status but its says "Administrative Processing" I have sent them several emails and I only get automated response which says that your case is is in Administrative Processing and it may take 6 months or longer. but its nearly more than a year with no joy.

Also does anyone know what is Annual Numerical Limit for Immediate Relative for Pakistan?

Also, as they US embassy in Pakistan has kept my parent's passport for more than a year, does anyone know if I ask embassy to return their passport will this affect immigration process in anyway?

Many Thanks.

Have you tried asking the US Embassy in Pakistan about this?
Please do not send me PM if I haven't sent you one yet.

Thanks for replying back.

Yes, the only way we can contact them is by sending them email through their website - we have sent few emails but they only sent us automated email saying your application is in Administrative Processing.
