mn1 & na application sent together but only chlid receiv

Post by purczatko » Thu Sep 19, 2013 11:06 pm

Hello I applied for british cutuzenship for myself and my child same time through ncs in july 2013. I did not want my child to get british citizenship ib case my own application is refused and therefore did not tick relevant box in section 7 of the mn1 form. This week my child received an invitation for ceremony but I did not. Hhas someone had similar situation? What does it mean for my own application? who I can contact to check answer ti my own application? Shouldn't myself and my child get invitation same time?
Tthank you for help in advance.

Children (under 18) don't need to attend a ceremony. If the child was invited to a ceremony, this must indicate that you have been approved as well so the child will receive the certificate during your ceremony. You will probably get another letter in the next few days.

Thank you for your respond, Jambo.

What about older children, do they get a seperate approval/invitation from the parent?

I just thought that if we applied jointly, then we would get approval/invitation same time. Especially, if a parent does not agree for child receiving citizenship alone.
It is a bit strange that i did not get my one eyet.

If the child is over 18, he needs to apply for naturalisation using form AN.

I suspect your approval is stuck in the post and will arrive shortly.
