Sure Start Maternity Grant (Social FUND) husband Pak

Post by Exquisit33 » Fri Sep 20, 2013 5:30 pm

Hi I am filling out my application for sure start Maternity grant. It asks for my partners details/information. Now the problem is that my husband is here on spouse/settlement visa as he is from PAKISTAN and is obviously not allowed to claim benefits (no recourse to public funds). Now if I apply and add my partners details Will this affect his ILR which we Will be applying for in February 2014. He came to UK February 2012. We just had our first child and are not claiming any benefits. I only sent off my application for child beneft this week. Still not heard from them????

Also can we apply for Working Tax credit and Child TAx credit without affecting my hubbys ILR?

I would be grateful if you could please answer my query. [/list]

You can apply for the SSMG and should do so within 3 months of having the child. However, you need to be claiming a qualifying benefit such as certain tax credit elements. If you're refused then reapply as soon as you're awarded tax credits.

You claim child benefit in your name and tax credits jointly.
