Working as Contractor

Post by papu.sarkari » Mon Sep 23, 2013 4:15 pm

Hi Guys,

I am currently on PSW visa expiring in Januray 2015. I have got an offer to work as contractor via my own Limited company.

The recruiter wants a hard evidence that I am allowed to do so. I am not able find any links or document on UKBA website suggesting that I am allowed to work as contractor.

Does anybody know any document by UKBA suggesting that I can work?

Regards,

Papu

If there are any restrictions, They stated on your visa.

sorry to say but the recruiter must be a dumb mule.

so many people with the PSW are contractors.

there is NO RESTRICTION at all to work (you can decide to work full time, part time, temp job, permanent job, maternity replacement, self employed, business man, housewife, etc) and the VISA clearly states what restrictions apply.

Yup
I have contracted for almost a year on PSW under my own limited company.
In future, try NOT to explain to these agents.
All they know is to talk !
If asked simply say that you are on Tier 1 visa.
If further evidence is required , scan you BRP and tell him/her that only restriction is for doing medical/dental work as stated on BRP.
Send him this link which states your conditions to stay.

@KickAss

I am currently in PSW. I have an offer to contract under my own ltd company and do contract jobs for a big multinational company.

However, my PSW expires in Feb 2014. What are my options for beyond that? Any idea?

The only other option I am aware of is by getting a T1E and contracting under your limited company.
But if you get a T1E , you wont be able to take any permanent job.
