Passport validity requirement for ILR

Hi
My passport is expiring in March 2014 and my ILR is due in Dec 2013. I cant get passport by the time of application. Could any guru advise what i should do as i've heard that passport should have atleast 6 months validity at the time of visa application. Thanks very much.
