Uk visitor visa for widow mother-in-law

Post by vignezh » Wed Sep 25, 2013 10:14 am

We are about to submit UK visit visa application for my mother-in-law. I am on Tier 1 general with my husband as dependant and we have just had our first baby in August. My parent-in-law were planning to visit us from June to August but they had to cancel the trip as my father-in-law was diagnosed with brain cancer and passed away recently. I have provided all the supporting documents including payslips, bank statements, accommodation proof, etc along with a cover letter explaining the situation and my husband and I will be sponsoring her visit fully and also have my brother-in-law who is in India as the additional sponsor.

With regards to showing ties to home country, we are having some difficulties. Since my father-in-law passed away only recently, the property documents, bank accounts are all on his name and it will take a few months to sort out the Legal heir certificate to change the property ownership, closure of bank accounts etc.

We are providing bank passbooks where mother-in-law is mentioned as nominee and also an affidavit confirm she is one of the legal heirs. Would this be sufficient? Also, the property document is in Tamil and wondering if we get a notary translation on a bond paper would be sufficient or not. There is also this pension order of my father-in-law which has a joint photograph of both of them as my mother-in-law is entitled for some pension after him.

If we could wait for a few months, these documents issues would be solved, but we want her to spend time with our baby now rather than later so to help with the loss of her husband.

Please let me know...
