Am I Right to apply for British Citizen?

Post by jaff90110 » Sun Oct 06, 2013 1:13 pm

I tried to read the common question on this forum but I don't really understand very clear .
I'm holding the Residence permit and the type is Limited Leave to Remain
Issue date : 05/ Jul / 2011
Valid until : 04 / Jul / 2014
I'm married with my English husband and I have been here since November 2008 then next month will be 5 years exactly,
Just wondering Could I apply for BC after next month, or if I 'm not met the require of BC then Am I have right to apply ILR visa now?
Thank you very much

You certainly cannot apply for naturalisation, as ILR is a requirement for naturalisation.

Limited leave to remain could mean a thousand things actually.

On what basis were you granted limited leave to remain in 2011?

As you have 3 years leave to remain, were you granted Discretionary Leave to Remain?

It appears you must not have met the requirements for ILR and have been granted DLR. This can be confirmed by reading the letter they sent you with you leave, if I am correct, you need to extend the DLR for a further 3 years then apply to settle once you have had DLR for 6 years.
