Date on Registration Certificate - Help needed Please

Hello,
I have a question regarding the date on the registration certificate for a recent approval of MN1-3(1).

Bascially, both my son and I applied at the same time for our British Citizenships. We got our approvals last week and the certificates have been already sent to our city council. I know that I have to take an Oath and the date on my certificate will be my ceremony date. I am going to pick up my son's certificate on the same day. My question is - will his certificate will have the same date of ceremony or the approval date? since he does not have to take the oath.

Also, can someone please tell me if I need to produce his passport to get his certificate? or will they just give it to me on that day along with mine? I am planning for his travel and hence the query.
