ILR confirmed on 24th Sep

Post by sankyb84 » Tue Oct 08, 2013 7:12 am

All

Wanted to provide some information on the ILR work I had accepted on 24th but couldn't do it earlier. As a thank you to the forum, I wanted to post the summary of the day's work. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ping me

1. Reached croydon office on 24th at 7.40 for a 8 AM appointment
2. As I had booked the premium service, I had received the letter for paying 100£ upfront. However, I would suggest taking the printout of the confirmation email received just in case as I was asked this by the security outside.
3. After waiting in the first set of seats for about 10 mins, I was asked to complete security checks and then moved to the first desk.
4. At this desk, my purpose was confirmed, and I was provided a token based on the person's check of my passport and biometric card.
5. I was then requested to go to the third floor (premium service centre) where the person sitting outside asked me to wait in the adjoining cafeteria before being called.
6. First check was for taking the money (always!) and while that was being processed, I was again asked to wait.
7. Within 5-10 mins, I was asked to go to another counter to complete initial checks where my passport, BRP and application form was checked along with the 2 photographs. I was asked to place all my evidence on the folder provided and asked to wait again to be called.
8. After 5 mins, I was asked to go to the BRP section, where my fingerprints and photo was taken. The person there took my folder and passed it on for verification. My work was completed there and I was asked to go back to the cafeteria to wait.
9. There are TV's installed in the cafeteria which keeps showing how your token no (i.e. your application is moving). If I remember correctly, it goes from biometric verification --> application to be reviewed --> application verification (here it stays the max time).
10. After waiting in the cafeteria for about 45-50 mins more, I was asked to come and collect the docs with my application being accepted.
11. The BRP card was posted to me in less than 2 days and I was all set!

As I am a tier 1 holder since 2008, I submitted the following doc (additional I went through a consultant appointed by my office, so their checks made this process very smooth)

1. Application form with 2 photographs
2. 12 months bank statement
3. Covering letter (I made it very detailed along with quoting the relevant paragraphs from UKBA website to validate my application)
4. 12 months pay slip (plus photocopies) (attested by my HR)
5. 5 years P60 (plus photocopies) (attested by my HR)
6. Passport (expired plus new) and BRP card (photocopies of front and back of passports, the visas I was in UK, and BRP front and back)
7. Graduation certification (plus photocopy)
8. Tenancy agreement (not sure if this was actually used, but I submitted it nevertheless)
9. Covering letter from my office (along with a confirmation of my leave of absences for last 5 years being all paid holidays - this was in a table format with firm letterhead)
10. Covering letter from the consultants as well (not mandatory)

Last but not least, take food and water with you so you dont have to spend anything there. Additionally take your ipad or laptop so you dont have to find ways to burn time while you are waiting (I tried reading a book, but it was only good in putting me to sleep almost!)

Good luck to all!
