earnings 2nd extension

can the earnings period start date be middle of the month,

can I claim earnings for period 12-Oct-2012 to 11-Oct-2013 or it has to be 1-Oct-2012 to 30th-Sep-2013

Yes it can.
Just make sure you have bank statements covering those earnings.
