Boimetric on 2nd extension & Bank Statements clarity

Post by kyborg99 » Wed Oct 09, 2013 11:55 am

I am concerned, please assist:

1. We extended our Tier 1 G visa in April last year and did Biometrics at a near by post office (after the new Bio metric at post-office rules came in). We have applied for a 2nd extension now - should I expect the Bio Metric letters to come through in the post - I mean is Bio Metric done on every extension ? As its been a week that the fee have been debited but no Biometric letter yet.

2. I have only sent 1 set 12 months bank statements - i.e. as my salary proof & maintenance funds for my dependants and I. Should I have 2 sets - 12 months for salary and 90 days for maintenance funds?
Also - I applied 29th Sep, but the statements were dated 15 Sep 2012 to 15 Sep 2013 - since they are within one month - this should be fine, right?

you will be OK with statement dates, and they should be OK with the same set of statement from income and maintenance, although it is usually best to point that out in the cover letter.

biometrics is done for each extension, you should probably get a letter any day now.

perhaps a delay in the post, plus stuff they put in the mail doesnt always seem to reach the royal mail the same day. I got mine 5 days after it was issued -- and, on top of that I have a feeling they have had a bit of a bottleneck last week with all the 1st October changes.

Thanks sagareva, I did not mention on the cover letter that its the same set of statements.

Also I maintain minimum balance for 90 days from 18th June to 16th Sep all fine - but 17th June - which is the 91st day upwards - I do not have the maintenance funds - I hope that is not an issue.

Also - can you point me a link to the 1st Oct changes please?

dude, look on the home office website, the changes have been widely discussed on this forum in the last month.

as for the maintenance period, what is the date of your statement you submitted?

you need to have the balance up to the date on your statement. you can't have a dip even after continuous 90 days. they always calculate 90 days backwards from the latest statement date.

there was a post from the guy here just recently who was rejected exactly because of that and lost an appeal as well

sagareva,

I applied on 29th Sep and gave statements dated 16th Sep 2012 to 16 Sep 2013.

So 90 days backwards are 18th June 2013 to 16th Sep 2013. (statements for dates 17th sep onwards I did not share anyways)
But my 17th June balance which is 91st day backwards has not enough balance.

ah, you should be fine then

from 18th june (the start of period) to 16th september (statement date) you got 90 days fair and square, even by conservative measure

do not worry then

the question whether they will realise that the same statement is for income and maintenance, but I think ultimately they will of course

if you submitted only these statements, and having nowhere else to look for maintenance, they will simply take the last day of the last statement and count 90 days backwards.

which will land them on 18th june

i don't see a problem

changes that are widely discussed relate to the "genuine earnings test" -- eg they gained a right to ask you to prove that you were involved in genuine employment/business and even call you in for a interview, so there is a lot of fear that all of this will cause major delays in processing of applications

i wonder how you managed to apply on the 29th of september though, it was a Sunday and no mail gets processed on Sunday. but that is not really relevant, you would have until the 16th of October
