We wish to get married sometime after that, when she finished her study. I have taken a look at the various Visas, mainly unmarried partner, partner, and fiance/proposed civil partner. All of which includes a requirement:
I have a few questions:your relationship must be genuine and subsisting:
If your relationship is genuine and subsisting we would expect you to be able to show evidence that you:
- are in a current, long-term relationship;
- are living together with your partner;
- share responsibility with your partner for any children;
- share financial responsibilities with your partner, such as a joint mortgage or tenancy agreement, a joint bank account or joint savings, and utility bills in both your names;
- and your partner have visited one another's home country and family; and
- you have made plans about living together in the UK with your partner.
1. We are not living together. I have a mortgaged house and she has a rented flat. I sometime sleep and her place and vice versa. What do I do? Do I put some utility bills in her name on my address for example? The unmarried partner Visa requires living together for 2 years for example.
2. Can I get married with her in the UK when she is holding Tier 4 Student Visa? Is this a better option than getting married through the proposed marriage visa route (6 months within the date the marriage visitor visa is granted) after she go back to her home country? I heard such a Visa requires application outside of UK, unless she has 6 months eligibility to remain in UK, is this true? If so then there should be no problem for the 1st option.
3. How do I prove we have made plans about living together in the UK. What about savings towards buying a house?
Many thanks.
