Please Guide me. critical situation for Extension

Post by hari15 » Fri Apr 06, 2007 5:56 pm

Dear Friends and Experts Pls Guide me,

I am already in UK under HSMP (actually I switched from WP to HSMP in old HSMP scheme)

Now I am very much worried about HSMP Extension

My HSMP Visa expires on Dec 15 2007

My Date of Birth is Nov 15th Nov 1977

I am a masters degree Holder (approved by UK naric) and in a permenant job in UK with salary of £24000 per annum

My Points tally is like this

Masters Degree - 35

Earnings - 20

Past UK exp - 5

So apart from age category I am getting 60 Points and I need 15 points to be gained from age

Age Criteria for extension is

29 or Less (i.e, before 30th birthday) - 20 Points
30 or 31 - 10 Points

In any case I should apply before Nov 15th to claim 20 points, then only I can pass, if I apply after Nov 15th I will fail

All my Question is

Can I post the Extension application on Nov 12th to reach Home office on Nov 13th if My Date of expiry of Current Visa is Dec 15th?

In Guidance notes it has been stated that, we can apply atmost 5 weeks before expiry of Visa. 5 weeks before expiry is Nov 10th. So I was having hopes

But in FAQ section of Home office site, it has been stated that we can apply atmost one month before expiry

which is true 5 weeks or 1 month? The one stated in Guidence document is true or the one stated in FAQ section is true

Please guide me with correct info. I am in Panic

It would seem to me that you send it in five weeks before, since as you said you will not get enough points for age if you send it any later. That's what I would do.
