Do we apply for ILR together or separately?

Post by roarke80 » Sun Oct 13, 2013 10:05 am

Hi all,

I'm sorry if this has been already answered but I read through the faqs and tried searching for relevant posts but am still confused.

My husband and I are both on Tier 1 General and we both become eligible to apply for ILR in May 2013. Should we be making one premium service appointment so that we can apply together at the same time? I understand this would mean it is cheaper for me, however, does that mean that I will have to apply as a dependent?

What is the difference between applying as a dependent of a settled person and getting my own ILR in terms of ability to work, rights etc?

What would you recommend I do? Should I apply for my own ILR independently? If so, can we do so together at the same appointment?

Thanks very much for your time!

If you are not already a dep then you would not be able to apply as a dep without having dep leave.

Thanks for your reply! Does that mean I need to book a separate premium service appointment for my own ILR or are we able to do it together in the same appointment please?

Given that you need to pay full fees online you should try and book two appointments for the same day.
