How many days absent in ILR

Hello Everyone,
I came to UK in Feb 2008 and I got my ILR in April this year, and I am planning to apply for citizenship in April 2014, Now my Company is planning to send me to US for a 6-8 month project, Although I can come to UK in between, I was just wondering will it hamper my chances for Citizenship ?

As far as I know, the requirement for Citizenship is total 6 yrs with in UK with 1 yr ILR and of course good character requirement and no criminal offense.

Do I need to Stay for a certain period of time within my ILR ?
