Hi All
I am a non-EU national and my partner is an EU national who has been exercising the EEA right since being in the Uk. We have been with each other for nearly 2 year. For the first few months ‘ like normal’ she received her bills at her old place till we had settled living together. So, since she has moved in the water, gas, rent are all in my name till Today. So we pay the bill depending on who’s able to or share the amount.
- We don't have any joint documents but we do have documents on our individual names coming to the same address.
- I have at bank statements, loans, mobile bills of document of being in the house for longer.
-Should we start now?
- She has a few statement but not from the beginning of her moving in about 4 months gap.
- If proof of address is needed why does it have to be financial document like joint account, joint names…we don’t have any of that.. Does it help if we open one now? Do they require to see your full private information or the address and names?
- Does a negative balance or debts affect your application?

Under regulation 8 (5) of the Immigration (EEA) Regulations 2006, a non EEA national who
is an unmarried partner of an EEA national can qualify as an extended family member if they
show their relationship is durable. There are no specific rules set as a definitive way to prove
a relationship is durable. It is up to the applicant to provide evidence to demonstrate this..
So if there is no specific rules..the UKBA must be making they own..correct or not?
Is people references considered as ‘SOFT’ information and ‘FINANCIAL’ have more base?
I would be great full for your insite.
Thanks
