Switching from Tier 2 to dependent of Tier 2

Post by shashank.kapoor123 » Mon Oct 14, 2013 8:43 am

Hi All, new to this forum, so please bear with me.

I am currently on Tier 2 visa from last 2 years. And my wife is on my dependent visa.

Recently my wife has got a good job and they are happy to sponsor her visa (Tier2). Now I am wondering if I can switch from Tier 2 category to dependent of Tier2 as I have been working for my employer for last 3 years and need a change now.

My question is - Am I allowed to switch from Tier 2 to dependent of Tier2. If yes, will these 2 years be counted towards my settlement or not.

Please let me know if I am not clear enough to explain my question.

Thanks for your help in advance.

PS: Please can you post some sources just to confirm.

Yes.

No, except under Long residence.

Note that your wife should apply for entry clearance from her own country.
