Spanish Schengen Visa

Post by NOG » Wed Oct 16, 2013 6:19 pm

I have a question relating to maintenance funds to obtain a Spanish Schengen visa -

The VFS website states - The minimum amount required, regardless of the length of the stay, is 90 % of the Spanish monthly minimum wages (for reference, approximately 500 pounds), plus an extra 10 % of this amount per day and per person for stays beyond 10 days.

I am going to be showing around 800-900 pounds in my account and I will be in Spain for 18 days. I have a letter of invitation from a Spanish host and will be living there. Is this amount that I am showing in my bank account sufficient?

Thanks.

In addition to the above, does anyone know from experience, where I can buy the cheapest travel insurance which has minimum coverage of 30,000 euros for emergency hospital and repatriation expenses.

Thanks.
